Sean Gayle

Sean Christopher Gayle is a seasoned technology leader, AI engineering expert, and cloud architect with over 25 years of experience in IT and more than 15 years specializing in Artificial Intelligence. He currently serves as Director of SLED AI Application Engineering at Microsoft, where he leads strategic AI solution delivery and innovation initiatives supporting Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), State & Local Governments, and Higher Educational Institutions.

With a career spanning industry giants including IBM, Accenture, L’Oréal, Staples, Barnes & Noble, and Microsoft, Sean has built a reputation as a trusted architect and technical advisor capable of translating complex AI and cloud challenges into scalable, real-world solutions. His work has consistently focused on designing highly available, globally redundant, open-source-driven architectures that enable organizations to modernize securely and efficiently.

Sean is widely recognized as a Principal Azure Cloud Solution Architect, with deep expertise across application development, DevSecOps, containers, Kubernetes, and enterprise cloud modernization. Known for his ability to bridge engineering excellence with mission-focused delivery, he has become a go-to leader for teams building secure AI applications at scale.

In addition to his leadership work, Sean is the co-creator of a patented video search engine, highlighting his long-standing passion for innovation and responsible technology advancement. His thought leadership has also been featured in the book The AI Dilemma: 7 Principles for Responsible Technology, reinforcing his commitment to building AI systems that are not only powerful, but ethical and sustainable.

Outside of technology, Sean is a proud father and Marine Dad, as well as an alumnus of both the University of Maryland (UMD) and Howard University. A former track star and self-described “man about town,” he brings a unique blend of discipline, creativity, and energy to every stage he steps on.
