Martell French

Martell has been with EY for 18 years and is a Managing Director within EY’s Business Consulting Office.  He focuses his time working on IT risk and management controls for various sectors including M&E through the alignment of control ownership as well as creation and formulation. In addition, he has experience with IT integrations around Mergers/Acquisitions and the creation and management of TSA for such transactions.  In this role, Martell brings broad M&E and IT audit experience on engagements requiring consideration of IT General Computer Controls as well as key business process application/IT-dependent manual controls.  In addition, he has played a crucial role in implementing reviews of major ERP systems such as Workday and SAP.   

Martell has partnered with several Retail and M&E clients on financial impacts of cyber breaches that impacted their environments.  Martell focuses on D&I initiatives including working with Advancing Black Executives as a mentor as well as helping to implement initiatives to retain professionals through Ecosystem of Care.  Martell’s experience includes the development of global approaches, coordination, and execution of control testing for global and start-up external audits, third party reporting, and system implementation/conversion reviews.  Furthermore, he has additional experience in the areas of internal/external audits, risk management; and internal controls design/optimization.     

Martell has an bachelor’s degree in accountancy from University of Illinoi Champaign-Urbana.  He also has his Certified Information Systems Auditor certification as well. Martell was a board member of Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art (Treasurer as well as member of Governance committee).
